In June, many friends and colleagues from Michigan Medicine were in San Diego to celebrate the extraordinary journey of Dr. Rodica Pop-Busui, American Diabetes Association President, Medicine and Science. During her inspiring presidential address, Dr. Pop-Busui offered a glimpse into her path of groundbreaking research in treating and preventing diabetic complications. From boiling urine at a hospital in Romania to innovative work studying outcome variations between men and women with diabetes, her research career is both fascinating and noteworthy.
In addition to the scheduled activities of this annual event, CDI hosted a reception to further celebrate Dr. Pop-Busui and the many University of Michigan researchers, clinicians, and educators that are advancing our work to prevent, treat and cure diabetes, obesity and related complications. We look forward to seeing everyone again, next year.
