Biography

How metabolic regulation is changed with obesity and how that affects cellular metabolism. How stress and obesity intersect with respect to chronic diseases.

  • Ph.D., University of Calgary

Research

My team is interested in how metabolism is regulated in normal and pathophysiological states. We use a combination of human, rodent, cellular and fly models to understand regulation of key physiological processes and how that relates to chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
